This initiative doubles last year's donation of 100 festive hampers, providing increased and vital support for the charities to raise much-needed funds for their important work.

The hand-packed and locally sourced hampers will be used by organisations for Christmas raffles, fundraising events and incentives.

Recipients were invited to pick up their hampers from the Jubilee Hall in Fawley on November 28, where they enjoyed a special guest appearance from Diesel the cat, ExxonMobil Fawley's new mascot.

As part of the petrochemical company's ongoing fundraising efforts in the region, Diesel has also been promoting a number of local Christmas events.

One highlight is the Waterside Christmas Engine, a vintage fire engine supported by ExxonMobil Fawley and operated by volunteers.

The engine, adorned with Christmas decorations and lights, is currently raising funds for local charities by spreading festive cheer across the Waterside area.

Diesel said: "ExxonMobil Fawley has proudly donated to fuel the engine at Blackfield Esso Station, as well as provided members of staff to assist with collecting donations and ensuring the vehicle completes its festive route.

"But that's not all. ExxonMobil has also sourced 3,000 selection boxes to give to the community, making it our 'sweetest' donation of the year."

He added, "It's been incredibly exciting to be part of an initiative that spreads so much happiness. It has certainly put me in the Christmas spirit!"
