Ahoy, fellow former Mobil mariners!

For many years Mobil Shipping Company was a familiar name in merchant shipping, but in the year 2000, following the merger between Exxon and Mobil the year before, the company was subsumed with International Marine Transportation. Since then, many of the former Mobil crew have retired, but they continue to keep in contact via the Mobil Shipping Friends database.

Initially overseen by the late Derek Swaisland, it now falls under the care of Andrew Pease.  With around 150 members, it welcomes all who sailed with Mobil Shipping or were associated with it.

Twice a year, the shipping friends gather for a pre-Christmas drink in November and a Spring Buffet in May at the Theodore Bullfrog near Embankment Station, London.  More than 50 friends attend these events, which are cherished reunions filled with laughter and memories.
