Celebrating WIN and International Women's Day

Every March, ExxonMobil marks International Women’s Day with activities across our locations. From Fawley to Fife and Leatherhead to London, we come together to celebrate the achievements of female colleagues and focus on women's equality. This year, many enjoyed a global Zoom event organised by Houston WIN and led by accomplished women in our organisation, followed by face-to-face discussion sessions aimed at fostering connections and conversations.

But we didn’t stop there, as celebrations were held across all our locations.  Thanks to the WIN team, including Jenny Brighton, Laura Richardson, Hannah Simpson, Sophie Keene, Zoe Smith and Alice Tan for coordinating events to mark this historic date!

WIN activities for staff continue year-round and you can get involved!  Initiatives last year included recognition schemes, educational sessions, panel events, and social gatherings have all inspired meaningful discussions on gender diversity and inclusion.  In 2024, we'll continue to provide opportunities for networking and support for female colleagues as these events serve as platforms for sharing experiences, insights, and aspirations.

Fawley is set to introduce self-defence classes and monthly cafés, held in the Fawley Admin Building on the last week of every month, which will focus on women’s health and wellbeing, providing valuable resources and fostering a culture of care and support.

Colleagues at FEP also remain committed to STEM outreach in local schools and continue to inspire young girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and maths.  Our thanks go to Rachael Conner for leading on this programme.

Additionally, the launch of ABLE - an initiative focused on supporting employees impacted by disabilities or differences - will promote awareness and advocacy.

Through WIN, ExxonMobil continues to create an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive. By championing diversity, equity and empowerment, we not only enrich our organisation but also contribute to a more equitable society.

And while our celebration of International Women’s Day serves as a reminder of the progress we've made and the work that lies ahead, let's continue to support and uplift each other throughout the year, ensuring that every voice is heard and every contribution valued.
