Building bikes for a brighter future

Our team at ExxonMobil Fawley put their engineering gears in motion to build bikes for The Honeypot Children’s Charity.

Through a set of energising team-building challenges organised by the charity team building company O3e, groups of ExxonMobil colleagues combined creativity with mechanical expertise to construct the bicycles from scratch, as part of an initiative to deliver tangible benefits to our community.

Our chosen charity for the event, Honeypot Children’s Charity, works to enhance the lives of young carers aged 5 – 12 years by providing respite breaks and consistent, on-going support.

First established 25 years ago, Honeypot continues its dedication to build a brighter future for young carers and help them make childhood memories that they can cherish for a lifetime.

Located in the New Forest, Honeypot House Hampshire, is a residential respite house that provides a safe, nurturing environment where children at risk can develop their full potential.

Viv Carter, Community Engagement Manager for The Honeypot Children’s Charity said: “This weekend we had a child learn to ride a bike using one of the newly donated bikes.”

“On behalf of the staff and children at the Honeypot Children’s Charity, I would like to extend my thanks to you all for the wonderful donation of children’s bikes that were built during the teambuilding day.”

“We are so grateful for your support with this donation of bikes, you are helping to build brighter futures and creating happy childhood memories for young carers.”

We are delighted to hear that the bikes are bringing joy to the children at Honeypot.
