Pipeline team wins Presidents Award

Alison Segun, James Taylor, Stuart Pace and Jon Anstee De Mas have all been awarded the Fuels & Lubricants President’s Award for their work on the Development Consent Order (DCO) for the Southampton to London pipeline (SLP) project. The scheme will replace 90km of the underground fuel pipeline between Boorley Green, Hampshire and the West London Terminal storage facility in Hounslow.

A Development Consent Order (“DCO”) application for consent to undertake this ‘Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project’ was made to the Secretary of State in 2019 and, following an extensive public examination process, permission was granted in October last year (see Newsline, Winter 2020).  The pipeline project is one of the first of its type to undergo this process, which was originally designed for railways.

Tim Sunderland, Southampton to London Pipeline business venture executive said:  “The F&L President’s Standard of Business Excellence Award recognises those who have demonstrated significant contributions toward achieving our company’s goals and commitments.

“Its purpose is to celebrate those who give their best effort, often in the face of extraordinary challenge, show commercial intensity and successfully lead and inspire others toward success.”  He added:  “A distinguishing trait of the Award is not just the ability to deliver exceptional results - it is also the ability to make and sustain a difference while demonstrating how we live the ‘we are ExxonMobil’ core values.   Many congratulations to the team on their well-deserved achievement.”
